- Ellegon A large percentage of crimes do not end with a conviction. Many guilty parties escape punishment. That does not mean a crime was not committed. Because a trial results in a 'not guilty' verdict it does not automatically translate into the defendent being innocent.

- lumis - if you could reduce the scene to just you and the robber, then you might have an argument about whether you should walk up and hand them your wallet. The story would then play out in the newspaper as to whether you were shot dead so as to not leave witnesses.

- Any "decent" hotel would not attempt to jam your bill with charges that they will take off if you confront them. However, I've learned to inquire about ALL fees or charges at time of check-in, and get a note in my file.
